Since 1989, Matt Davenport has been producing, writing and directing award-winning productions and national tours, including hit shows like On Broadway!, Birth of the Beat, I Get a Kick Out of Cole, Puttin’ on the Hitz and American Rhapsody, the official production of the Gershwin Centennial Celebration. Matt has written and/or directed original stage shows for numerous theme parks and resorts, including the General Jackson Showboat, Fiesta Texas, Busch Gardens Tampa, The Gaylord National Resort, Dollywood, Holiday World, Sea World, Silver Dollar City and Opryland USA including their number one rated show, Country Music USA. Matt also wrote, produced and directed American Jukebox, one of the longest running and top-rated shows at Busch Gardens Williamsburg and Hersheypark’s The Milkmen, 2007 IAAPA Show of the Year.
As CEO/Executive Creative Director of Matt Davenport Productions, Matt oversees a full-time production and creative staff. Located just north of Nashville, Tennessee, this 15,000 sq. ft. state of the art production facility includes two rehearsal studios, scenic and costume studios, a 4,000 sq. ft. scene shop plus a video/audio recording and editing suite.
In 2001, Matt opened Live On Stage (LOS), where he serves as President/CEO. LOS focuses on providing performing arts series and services for a unique network of arts communities in forty-one states across America, and has provided performance and touring opportunities for more than four hundred artists from across the globe. In 2016, Live Arts and Attractions (LAA) became Matt’s third entertainment enterprise. LAA provides world-class attractions to performing arts centers and theatres across the USA.
